How to create an account on STOKR

  • Updated

STOKR is open to both individual investors and legal entities, subject to eligibility checks and the investment restrictions of each individual offering. This guide explains who can invest, how to create an account, and how identity verification works.

Who can invest

Both private individuals and corporate entities can register and invest on STOKR. Eligibility also depends on the specific offering: each digital security listed on STOKR carries its own investor eligibility criteria (for example, jurisdiction restrictions or professional-investor requirements), so review the offering details before applying. Institutional investors can also invest through STOKR, subject to STOKR's anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) obligations under Luxembourg law.

Before you begin

Prepare the following:

  1. A valid passport or photo ID (for individual investors).
  2. A device with a built-in camera, for facial recognition during identity verification.

Legal entities should also prepare:

  1. Articles of Association, Memorandum of Incorporation, or Trust Deed.
  2. Certificate of Incorporation, if applicable.
  3. A recent extract from a company or business trade registry, no older than three months. Where such an extract is not issued in the entity's country of registration, a Certificate of Incumbency and Certificate of Good Standing are accepted equivalents.
  4. Documents evidencing the entity's control structure.
  5. A recent, signed shareholder register or register of members.

Step 1: Create an account

Go to the STOKR page and select "Sign Up". Enter your email address and choose a password, then click "Confirm Email". You will receive a confirmation email to activate your account. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.

Step 2: Choose individual or legal entity registration

After confirming your email, select whether you are registering as an individual or on behalf of a legal entity.

To register as an individual:

  1. Select your country of residence and click "Continue". This determines which investment offerings are available to you.
  2. Click "Verify Identity" and follow the on-screen instructions. Identity verification is powered by Sumsub, STOKR's identity verification partner. Sumsub will notify you once your identity has been verified.

To register as a legal entity:

  1. Select the country where the entity is registered and click "Continue". This determines which investment options are available to the entity.
  2. You will be directed to the entity verification screen, also powered by Sumsub. Upload the documents listed above, then click "Verify Entity" to begin verification.

Step 3: Provide your tax identification number

Enter your Tax ID in the field provided and click "Submit".

Step 4: Connect your wallet

To receive digital securities, connect an AMP-compatible wallet. Your AMP ID is a unique wallet address beginning with the letters "GA". SideSwap is the recommended wallet; the Blockstream app is available as an alternative. Both wallets operate on the Liquid Network, the blockchain STOKR uses to issue digital securities.

Registering once is enough

You only need to complete registration and verification once. After your account is created and verified, you can invest in any eligible offering on STOKR without registering again. If your circumstances change materially (for example, a change of legal structure or residency), you may be asked to update your verification details.

If you run into any issues during registration, submit a request.
