How private investment rounds work

  • Updated

Some offerings on STOKR are restricted to professional investors, or open to private participation before becoming available more broadly on the platform. Eligibility requirements and minimum investment amounts vary by offering. This guide explains how to register interest and participate.

Step 1: Create and verify your account

If you do not yet have a STOKR account, follow the steps in "How to create an account on STOKR" first.

Step 2: Confirm your eligibility for the offering

Go to the offering you are interested in. You can confirm your eligibility in one of three ways, depending on the stage of the offering:

  1. Click the star icon next to the offering description, before the round opens.
  2. Click "I'm Interested", before the round opens.
  3. Click "Confirm Your Eligibility" below the "Invest" button, after the round opens.

In the dialogue that appears, tick the boxes confirming your eligibility and, if you wish, subscribe to notifications for this offering. Click "Register" to submit.

A STOKR account manager will contact you within a few business days. If you already hold a STOKR account, log in and confirm that your account is fully verified on your dashboard checklist before proceeding.

Step 3: Wait for eligibility confirmation

You will receive an email notification once your eligibility has been confirmed. A corresponding notification also appears on your dashboard.

Step 4: Invest

When the round opens to you, click "Invest" on the offering page. Select your preferred payment method and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your investment.

Note for issuers

This guide covers the process from an investor's perspective. Issuers looking to run a private investment round should refer to the corresponding guide in the "For Issuers" category.
