This guide explains what it means to be classified as a professional investor on STOKR, who administers this classification, and how to request a change.
What professional investor classification means
Classification as a professional investor indicates that you are considered to have the knowledge and experience necessary to understand the risks involved in investment transactions. This classification reduces the level of regulatory protection and information obligations that apply to you, compared to non-professional (retail) investors, in line with the client categorisation framework under MiFID II.
Who administers the qualification
STOKR works with partners, including Donau Capital and Tokenstreet, to facilitate professional investor qualification in line with MiFID II client categorisation requirements. You are required to complete a form and provide supporting documentation.
Benefits of professional investor status
Qualified professional investors can access selected investment opportunities at a lower minimum investment amount. EU-based professional investors can also gain access to secondary market trading where available.
How to request a change of classification
If you have already been classified as a professional client and wish to change your classification, submit a written request to compliance@stokr.io.
