How Does Wallet Verification Work at STOKR?

  • Updated

Custodial Wallets

Examples: Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) like Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, Sygnum Bank

If you are sending crypto-assets from a VASP the verification process is simple and largely automatic. During the investment process on STOKR, just select your VASP/ platform  from the dropdown menu when choosing your payment method. If your VASP/ platform is not listed, you can select “Other”.

Please note that if you select “Other” and we are not able to identify the counterparty VASP, our Compliance Team might contact you for further information.

Self-custody Wallets

Examples: MetaMask, Ledger, TrustWallet, Electrum

When using a self-custody wallets, you must complete ownership verification before payment.

  • Ethereum-based assets (USDC, USDQ): Sign a short verification message in your wallet. No funds are sent.
  • Bitcoin (BTC): Send a small test transaction. The amount is automatically adjusted with your  total investment.
